GOSHEN, Ind. Marfa’s “Daisy” is a scootin’, southern inspired guitar tune, seemingly taking references from days past. The guitar twangs while the drums shuffle along behind it and the vocals croon about Daisy, “having the thrill of her life.”

Kellen Wall and Bryce Menchaca first met during COVID-19, when everybody’s faces were covered with masks. At first the intimidation of not being able to see each other made their songwriting awkward, but Wall and Menchaca really found their footing when they posted a cover to TikTok. This TikTok and a raw demo sent to Nick Waterhouse, A-list producer, is what enabled them to record their first single in the same studio that The Beach Boys Pet Sounds was recorded.

Combining influences like Gregory Alan Isakov, Bruce Springsteen, and Glen Campbell, Marfa found a happy in-between that suits them well. The dreamy southern vocals and the twangy guitar combine so well to make an all new, fresh country sound. In the music video for “Daisy,” we see Wall and Menchaca sitting next to a pool, where the titular character, “Daisy,” lounges. Crooning about Daisy spending all her time in L.A. while they groove to the sound of their fresh country tune, Marfa expands on the visual identity of the song. Daisy, left town for Utah, but ended up in L.A., set to star in a movie. Whether real or not, “Daisy,” certainly inspired a song that can be enjoyed by anyone, those who like the oldies, and those who enjoy the modern music scene.

The duo, currently on tour, is set to make an appearance right here in Goshen in our very own WGCS 91.1 The Globe studio on Monday, November 17, 2025. The two will also make stops in Chicago, Columbus, and Grand Rapids.
