GOSHEN, Ind. – Coach Jio Fontan will take on the role of head coach for the Women’s basketball team.
This comes after Tyra Carver’s resignation in June.
Carver led the squad to 15 wins over the last two seasons.
Coach Fontan has coached for the past 11 years at both the high school and collegiate levels.
The squad wasn’t able to prepare with an off season so they’ve been working hard to make sure they can reach the Crossroads League Tournament.
“We want to be competitive immediately. We wanna take care of our home base as much as possible, but really go out there and kind of just show that improvement we’ve had over the summer,” said Fontan.
The women’s basketball team will open up their season with the Ruth Gunden Classic on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 31 at 6:30 p.m.
