In episode eleven of the Globe Sports Corner, hosted by Tanner Camp, we start with Suzette Rodriguez, a junior thrower for the Goshen College track and field team, and her qualifying for the NAIA Indoor Championship. William Troyer talked with Rodriguez about how even though she qualified, she is still wanting to improve on her throws as the Crossroads League Championship is coming up. Rodriguez also comments on how difficult it was at first to train when their throws coach left, but she was able to find a way to focus on her throws. Benjamin Cotton interviews Alex Childers, head coach for the Goshen College baseball team, to get his thoughts about the team as they get ready to start their season. Childers comments about how the weight room mentality has improved over the course of preseason and how that will get the team ready for games. He also talks about how his team is always wanting to go outside and play baseball and the love that each member of the team has. Benjamin Cotton also interviews Jessica Bachtell, sophomore infielder for the Goshen College softball team, to find out what she thinks of the team after their first three games. Bachtell looks back on her freshman year and how winning freshman athlete of the year helped her train over the summer. Bachtell also comments on Katherine Boyer, senior for the Maple Leafs, and her leadership role that she brings to the team. Finally, Tanner Camp looks ahead at your Goshen College Maple Leafs in action this week. More episodes will be posted weekly for the rest of the semester on this social media outlet.
