GOSHEN, Ind. Released this year from honky tonk country artist Tyler Childers,  “Bitin’ List” is a humorous song about having an immense dislike for someone. So much so that Childers writes, “And if there ever come a time I got rabies, you’re high on my bitin’ list”.

The song starts off with a rousing drum beat backing Childers’ voice. When the banjo and guitar kick in, listeners can easily recognize his familiar sound that just makes you want to dance.

As the song progresses, Childers continues to express his disdain for this person. After the second chorus there is a bluegrass-esque banjo solo that takes the ear for a rollercoaster tossing in a few unexpected notes here and there.

When I first listened to the song it took me by surprise with its raw lyrics, but it grew on me and after playing it myself a couple times I found the song to be quite amusing. And, with a common chord progression and fun lyrics this is an excellent song to pull out around a campfire for anyone looking to add to their repertoire!

After listening to the song a few times I further investigated and found the song on youtube. It depicts dogs being trained to attack. Showing people wearing thick arm guards and dogs latching on to them, biting down hard. I shouldn’t have expected anything less after hearing the song but it still made me laugh as I watched it.

Childers is currently touring in Europe but will be in Columbus, Ohio at the beginning of the summer. If you’re looking for a reason to dance, this is your chance!
