GOSHEN, Ind. – Each week, a Globe-pal (AKA a DJ at 91.1 the Globe) uploads a review of a Globe track that is sent out and posted on globeradio.org/music. The Globe Track of the Week is proudly presented by 91.1 the Globe, the best college radio station in Indiana.

This week’s Globe Track of the Week is an upbeat, catchy tune from longtime Nashville band, The Wild Feathers’ newest album Sirens, which was just released on the 4th of October. The title of this week’s featured tune is “Sanctuary.”

In “Sanctuary,” The Wild Feathers take listeners through a story of a failing relationship through a one-sided list of rhetorical questions and statements. This is best seen in the chorus’s first lines: “I don’t wanna see you break down, but I ain’t gonna be your sanctuary now.” In just this short snippet of the song, the listener can get a great summary of the turmoil being presented throughout this song.

This song is personally one of my favorite Globe tracks at the moment. From the start to the end of the song, I find it captivating through its catchy chorus and rhyme scheme. Don’t get confused by this catchy chorus though because it is not just a lazy mechanical and cheaply inserted snippet of the song that stands out like a pair of shorts at the North Pole.

The chorus both blends perfectly with the “vibe” of the song and also stands out nicely to add some variety into the song. On top of all of that, it’s one that will repeat over and over in your head (or at least it has for me).

The Wild Feathers describe Sirens as “an LP of road-worn, sharply-woven tales chronicling a life worth living.” As for me, I describe it as an album worth listening to.
