When one attends VolksFest, you expect to see the usual VW Bugs and Buses. But one man, Jeff Gruntman, went a little bit above and beyond. His vehicle is 100% custom built. A dune buggy esq, VW Beetle inspired, custom creation. He built it entirely from scratch during the pandemic. Cracking down on it in February and finishing it in September. Gruntman has experience working in metal fabrication, specifically in motorsports, but this was still a challenge. He offered some words of advice to people who are thinking about starting a challenging project, big or small, encouraging people to get out there and try, saying it’s better to try and fail than to not try at all. These days Gruntman uses the vehicle to go to and from work and for errands when the weather is nice.
