GOSHEN, IN – Each week, a Globe-pal (AKA a DJ at 91.1 the Globe) takes a song of their choosing, and dishes out a healthy review to be sent out and posted on globeradio.org/music.
The Globe Track of the Week is an excellent way to keep up with the new tunes presented weekly on 91.1 the Globe, the best college radio station in Indiana.
The first few chords of Wanting and Waiting by the Black Crowes really draws you into the song. It gives off an 80’s rock vibe and I am a rock fan.
Wanting and Waiting is the newest material for the Black Crowes in over a decade. This song reminded me of a Kiss song. It gave off the same vibes of the rock bands raunchy but fun tunes.
The lyrics of this song sound to be written from the perspective of someone who has broken up with their significant other and is hoping to get them back. This made the song relatable to me and honestly to most, since most people have experienced a situation similar to this at some point in their lives.
The Black Crowes is a band I would like the opportunity to see in concert live. Wanting and Waiting brings out a fun and upbeat mood for me everytime I listen to it. The background instrumentals are one of my favorite parts of this song. They are strong and clear and I especially love the guitar.
One lyric I found the most relatable and hitting was “I‘ve been so lost on my own since the day you said goodbye”. I found this moving and a feeling that I have felt especially when going through a breakup and a tough time.
