GOSHEN, Ind. — At 6-10, the Goshen College Baseball team has already picked up two more wins through 16 games than they did in 2022.
Included in those wins are two victories over Marian University, who swept the Leafs the past two seasons.
While the team is performing well as a whole, there’s a pair of juniors who stand out from the rest in Eric Pettipiece and Jenner Rodammer.
Pettipiece is just two weeks removed from being named the Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week for his complete-game performance against Brescia University, in which he allowed just three hits and no runs. Pettipiece is currently making the transition from reliever to starter, and is excited to be able to set the tone for each series for the foreseeable future.
Rodammer currently leads the team in singles, doubles, triples, RBIs and home runs. In GC’s recent win over Ecclesia, Rodammer went 5-for-5 at the plate, including a grand-slam in the 16-nothing blowout win. Rodammer has earned praise from his coaches recently for his ability to get on-base while down in the count and batting with two strikes.
Head Coach Alex Childers is in no way surprised to see how well the two are playing this season, and expects more of the same from them as the season goes on and conference play begins.
