The Goshen College baseball team pulled off an upset victory versus Taylor University at home. The Maple leafs hosted the Trojans on March 6th for game one which was a 10-3 loss. Day two of the series was a different Maple Leaf team. In game one the Maple Leafs won 4-3 ending it with a shutout in the 9th inning. Senior Ben Longacre bombed his second home run of the season. In game two the Maple Leafs won 7-4 and scored three runs in the bottom of the eight innings. Senior Kody Mcguire finished the day with five hits leading the team. Assistant coach Dough Wellenrieter speaks about how his team has faced adversity in the spring break trip. He believes keeping this momentum can help impact the team’s dominance in the crossroads league. Senior pitcher Braedon Evans also touches on the mindset of the team. Evans believes with this victory, it can kick start their way into winning ball games in the crossroads league.
