GOSHEN, Ind. — An unsung hero and inspiration to the likes of Jack Johnson and Gregory Alan Isakov, John Craigie brings his vintage folk charm to the forefront in a new song titled “Fire Season.” In his own comedic brand of folk storytelling Craigie compares himself to his lover’s vices, claiming to be the ruin of them, all while his nostalgic timeless voice floats above a tune that could be mistaken as the soundtrack to your favorite memories.
Blending a delicately plucked lead with the longing sliding steel guitar, Craigie crafts a world within “Fire Season,” one that could so easily be burned down by the passion of his love he rambles on about. An infinitely gentle drum beat continues on and on with the melancholic eviction of a man who’s loved a thousand times over.Hailed as a “Modern-day Troubador” in the Style of Woody Guthrie, the first single off of his upcoming album I Swam Here, is a testament to the prevailing power of storytelling. Set to release on February 6, 2026 I Swam Here will have in total three singles released before the inevitable album release.
Craigie is also currently touring across the United States from now until June 6, 2026, with a show set to be played in Evanston, IL on March 24. He will be joined by the likes of Olive Klug, Anna Moss, and Jobi Riccio.
“Fire Season,” a monument, much like the trees he sings about, to Craigie’s career sure won’t find itself burnt down, unlike the demise of those very same trees.
