The Goshen college softball team is off to one of its best starts in program history.

The Maple Leafs are getting a boost this season from an incredible freshman class. Two standouts include Shea VanScoter and Alyssa McDonald.

VanScoter, a freshman Exercise Science major from Michigan, had a lot to overcome after dealing with a shoulder injury during her senior year in high school.

VanScoter had surgery and was unable to practice during the first semester of her collegiate career. She has been grateful for her teammates and coaches support.

McDonald, a freshman broadcasting major from Utah, has already hit three Home runs this season. She credits her smooth transition into college to her supporters. McDonald hopes to continue her success throughout her career at Goshen College.

Softball coach, Juliaclare Plezbert, is impressed with VanScoter and McDonald. To find out more view the feature above!
