GOSHEN, Ind. At The Globe, we receive lots of packages daily — artists send in CDs and other promotional material on a regular basis. Last week I unboxed a package from Larkin Poe with Mackenzie, our music director, and it was one of the best we’ve received.

The card was nice, it had some tea, some cool-looking suckers, and of course the album in vinyl. It’s the little things in life, but needless to say, it left an impression.

We’ve been playing “Easy Love, Pt. 1” on The Globe and it has quickly become one of my favorites. It has everything that I like in a song — a catchy guitar hook, a nice, full jam and a part two later in the album. I love a multi-part song (big shout out to The Crane Wife 1, 2 and 3).

The song opens with a guitar hook, setting the tone for a high-energy opening.

The lyrics are about, as expected, easy love. “I saw his face on the cover of a magazine // The first of many dominos to fall.” Later: “We got the easy love, easy love.”

Larkin Poe is made up of Rebecca and Megan Lovell, sisters based out of Nashville. Rebecca said, “‘Easy Love Pt. 1’ is, hands down, the truest and most detailed love song I’ve ever written.

“As referenced in the lyrics: there is in fact an Eiffel Tower recreation in Paris, TX. And yes, it does have a little cowboy hat on top. We can’t wait to perform this song live, the instrumental interlude creates a trippy little ‘70s rock ’n’ roll moment that we can’t wait to jam out.”

The song is currently ranked number nine on the Americana Music Association singles chart — and climbing. We’ll be spinning it for a while as it makes a run at the top. Plus, it’s a good song. We like playing good songs.
