In episode four of the Globe Sports Corner, Benjamin Cotton interviewed both head coach of softball Juliaclare Plezbert and Goshen College women’s soccer midfielder Beatriz Meneghin. In the interviews, Cotton spoke to coach Plezbert about the importance of playing fall ball and also bringing in 10 new players onto the team. Meneghin on the other hand, spoke about her transition from her previous school to become a Maple Leaf.
Josh Taylor also covered women’s volleyball after a big win over conference opponent Spring Arbor University. Juliaclare Plezbert enters her second year for the Maple Leafs as the head coach. Plezbert speaks about how she has learned from her year and she plans on preparing for the upcoming season. Sophomore Jessica Batchel was award rookie of the year for Maple Leaf athletics.
Plezbert goes into detail about how she plans to improve her talent on the field. Beatriz Meneghin is a transfer student from Parkland Community College. Also, Meneghin is an international student as she has only spent two years in the United States. During the interview, she describes how she developed her English by relying on her teammates. The women’s soccer team is off to a great start as their record is 6-3 and 1-1 in the Crossroads League. Meneghin goes into detail about how the women’s soccer team has had a smooth start.
