GOSHEN, Ind – If you think about Goshen College basketball, usually what comes to mind is the purple uniforms or the maple leafs, but now the Goshen College pep band is bringing new atmosphere to the game of basketball.

Senior Jonathan Orjala played in a pep band in high school and always wanted to see live music during games here at Goshen. With the help of Richard Brunson, the new orchestra director, the dream became reality.

Brunson, who occasionally steps in and plays with the band, sees the group as a way to add life into the crowd and players during the games, but also as a way to let current and prospective students play music in a different setting.
