The Humane Society of Elkhart County has reported that the number of animals being euthanized at the shelter has gone down significantly over the last decade, while adoption rates continue to improve. They say this is due, in part, to their new facility, which opened in 2018. The new shelter has improved the lives of the animals who stay there by offering better sound-proofing, filtration, and overall environment.
