The Goshen parks department was awarded the 2020 inclusion program of Excellence Award for opening Kerry’s kids playground on February 12. Tonya Heidi, the superintendent of Goshen parks said this about what it meant for the parks department. “So the award to us means that we are playing our part in making sure that we’re doing what we can to be inclusive to everybody with all abilities.” Goshen Mayor, Jeremy Stutsman, spoke on what the award meant for the community. “You know, obviously I’m really proud of our parks department. Tanya Heidi and her team do phenomenal work for our community. And receiving a statewide award like this is I’m just it’s always nice when other organizations and other areas recognize what we’re doing here in Goshen,” Heidi wanted to make it clear that the playground was a community project. “It’s definitely worth mentioning that this project the carries kids playground project was truly a community effort.” If you want to go Kerry’s Kids playground it is located at Hay park in Goshen, Indiana.
