GOSHEN, Ind. – Each week, a Globe-pal (AKA a DJ at 91.1 the Globe) uploads a review of a Globe track that is sent out and posted on globeradio.org/music. The Globe Track of the Week is proudly presented by 91.1 the Globe, the best college radio station in Indiana.

The Heavy Heavy recently released their new album entitled “One of a Kind” on Sept. 6. It had twelve songs under it, including this week’s Globe Track of the Week: “Feel.” The song is the third song on the album and was released separately as a single as well.

There are three things that make a song an instant favorite for me. There must be a banging drumline, interesting guitar, and lyrics that get stuck in my head. “Feel” delivers on all of those things. Starting out with a simple beat at the beginning, the song draws you in to tap your feet before it even gets going. The guitar features addictive riffs, which are only heightened with a funky bass line and keys straight out of a 90’s british rock song.

The band released a statement about “Feel” saying: “This track is all about how we want to live life. We found ourselves dabbling sonically in the world of 1990s Brit rock, which is one of our favorite eras of music, and we took a lot of inspiration from Oasis and The Stone Roses for this one. Lyrically, we were inspired by Beck, in particular the playful, primal lyrics of ‘Loser.’” These inspirations shine throughout the song, creating a bop that will become a staple in any road trip playlist.

The Heavy Heavy are also currently on tour. One show will be stopping in Chicago, so if you want to hear this song live, more information can be found at https://www.theheavyheavy.com/tour
