ELKHART, Ind. — The Wellfield Botanic Garden’s in Elkhart are set to go through a massive $17 million expansion.
The space already features more than 20 separate gardens for visiting, and its privately funded expansion will add new parking, a state-of-the-art visitors center and an open-air pavilion among other features.
The pavilion will allow the gardens to continue serving the community as a venue space even during winter months, as operations are currently slowed to weekends-only during the winter.
Wellfield Botanic Gardens will remain open during the construction process, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
