On October 4, 2019, 91.1 The Globe (WGCS) will celebrate College Radio Day. Going into its 9th year, College Radio Day (CRD) will be celebrated nationwide by colleges and universities of all sizes. Its goal is to raise a greater, international awareness of the many college and high school radio stations that operate around the world by encouraging people who would not normally listen to college radio to do so on this day.
The Globe will celebrate by going live for 24 hours. Starting Thursday night at midnight, the staff will kick off the day with a dance party in the studio. Playing upbeat, party music and enjoying each other’s company, the 91.1 staff is looking forward to being on air and getting their audience just as excited about the celebration. Each hour, a new host will take over to continue the 24 hour live broadcast. Tune in and join the celebration!
