Bachtell making big impact on the team
It’s not easy to be able to play at the college level, especially for freshmen, but for Jessica Bachtell, shortstop for the Goshen College softball team, she has made a big impact on the team. She recently won Rookie of the Year at the first annual Leafy awards in recognition for her outstanding play in her first her.
Bachtell talks about how surprised she was and how honored she was to receive this award. Bachtell also explains what the team needs to do in order to make a final push before the Crossroads League tournament, which involves working together and keeping the team chemistry.
Bachtell also explains that the biggest area that the team needs to improve on is hitting and being able to string hits together to get more runs. Bachtell is number two in the team’s batting average and she will be looking to keep working on her game throughout her time here at Goshen College.
