The Goshen College Men’s and Women’s basketball teams are wrapping up their nonconference seasons this weekend before gearing up for a long conference season. For the Men’s basketball teams they have two games left on their schedule before entering conference play with an upcoming weekend doubleheader in Wilberforce, Ohio. They will look to improve upon a 3-4 record this upcoming weekend. For the Goshen College Men’s basketball team, they will be playing without two key players that have been coming off the bench this season. Rob Sanders, a sophomore, is out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured Achilles and freshman Grant Monix is out with an ankle sprain and will be out for another week. We talked to Austin Branagan who is powering this Maple Leaf offense through the first seven games averaging 17.2 points per game. As for the Goshen College Women’s basketball team, they have wrapped up their nonconference schedule and are sitting with a 6-2 record, winning five straight games. The Maple Leafs are now awaiting the Grace College Lancers on Tuesday, November 26th. Graysen Cockerham, the Maple Leafs leading scorer with 10.8 points per game, talked about the team’s goals as they enter the grueling Crossroads League.
